Professional training for responsible mining

The CEA MEM (African Center of Excellence for Mining and the Mining Environment), a member of the Pan-African Research Network for Responsible Mining (RAMR2D), has published its training catalogtraining programs.

The African Center of Excellence for Mining and the Mining Environment (CEA-MEM) at the Félix HOUPHOUËT-BOIGNY National Polytechnic Institute (INP-HB), established in 2016, is a World Bank Center currently funded by the French Development Agency (AFD) that aims, among other things, to train high-quality human resources for the mining sector.

CEA-MEM offers short- and medium-term professional training programs covering the entire mine lifecycle.

Twenty-two modules, organized around four major themes, are offered to mining stakeholders at all levels (professionals, students, artisanal miners, entrepreneurs, auditors, etc.):

  1. Applied geology and prospecting
  2. Optimizing the exploitation of deposits
  3. Mining environment
  4. Mining governance.
