CERMES is a public scientific and technical establishment in Niger.

CERMES has a three-fold mission: research, public health and training.

CERMES has a Board of Directors and a Scientific Council, and on the executive side, a Chairman of the Board and a Managing Director.

Under the supervision of the Scientific Department, research is carried out by 3 Research Units:

• Bacteriology and Virology Unit (UBV).
• Paludology and Medical Entomology Unit (UEM).
• Epidemiology, Health, Environment and Climate Unit (UESEC).

Public health activities are carried out by its 4 National Reference Laboratories (NRLs):

• NRL antimalarial drug resistance.
• The meningitis NRL is associated with the strip production laboratory.
• NRL Cholera.
• NRL Influenza.
